NEWS UPDATE
Frisco police responded to what is believed to have been an armed suspect at about 7:45 p.m. Tuesday, and the suspect surrendered himself shortly after 10 p.m.
The standoff occurred near Kings Ridge Road, located by the intersection of Preston Road and Rolater Road. Local residents said they heard noises that sounded similar to gunshots, though they were unsure if shots were actually fired. About a dozen police cars responded to the scene, including the department's special operations unit in its armored vehicle.

The Plano Senior football team will get a chance to defend its Division I 7-on-7 State Championship after all.
The Wildcats made good on their third and final crack at a ninth consecutive state tournament berth Friday thanks to some late-game heroics that upended Arlington Martin, 31-26, in semifinal action at Wylie Stadium in the Wylie SQT.
